Be at peace

God wants us, His children, to be at peace in our hearts and not to be fearful like those who do not know Him.

John 16:33 – “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”

Jesus speaking above tells us that we will face trouble in this world but then He says to take heart, because He has overcome the world.

How can we take heart when troubles are coming our way? How can we have peace?

We must understand that when we receive Jesus as our Lord and Saviour, a process the Bible calls being Born Again, the Spirit of Jesus joins with our spirit creating a new Spirit within us. This spirit is now a totally new fusion of us and Jesus! [How to receive and follow Jesus? –  Click here]

1 Corinthians 6:17 – But he who is joined to the Lord is one spirit with Him.

2 Corinthians 5:17 – Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!

This means that everything that Jesus has done and received becomes ours, because He is in us and we are in Him.

All the overcoming that Jesus did, is now ours and we face every obstacle in life from a position of having overcome. The outcome is pre-decided, we are winners if we will take hold of who we are in Jesus!

Romans 8:31-32 – What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?  He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?

Philippians 4:6-7 – Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Luke 10:19 – Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

Psalm 91:9-12 – Because you have made the Lord, who is my refuge, Even the Most High, your dwelling place, No evil shall befall you, Nor shall any plague come near your dwelling; For He shall give His angels charge over you, To keep you in all your ways. In their hands they shall bear you up, Lest you dash your foot against a stone.

James 4:7 – Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.
